Discomfort in his wisdom tooth was his reason! +7 through 8 holes had nothing to do with it!

LMAO, I doubt it was a tooth but hey who are we to judge. +7 and then one in the drink, looks like he quit. Whatever it is the kid will be back. Not as hard on him as I used to be. $250 mill deserves respect in my book. I just hope in did not ruin him.

I like the kid but is this how the future of golf is suppose to act? Sometimes a little mental strength can overcome physical pain or discomfort.

Agree. My point on will the money ruin him. He does not have to perform well or be hungry to win now. And hey, he can even walk off the course when he is disgusted with his play. Advil for a tooth ache? Nope! They have access to much more strength than Advil. Come on.

It is nice to know that even the number 1 player in the world can have a front nine the way do at times.

It's one thing when you miss a cut in your first tournament of the year. It's also another thing when you lose in the 1st round at the Accenture; it happens to 31 other guys every year. But the line is drawn long before you shoot 7 over in 8 holes and just walk off the course. First thing's first, this is a low-class act. You play bad, you finish. Unless you're under life-threatening circumstances or there's a family emergency, you've got no excuse to walk off the course especially in a PGA Tour event where you are the defending champion. Even if his tooth was hurting, an LPGA Tour player got bit by a black widow and she finished her round. Somehow I get the feeling a poisonous spider bite is a little more dangerous than a toothache. But credit to Rory and his camp for that excuse. It's not something that can be disproven, and it's different. If anything, it makes me happy I had my wisdom teeth removed 16 months ago, even though I went through about 10 days of hell afterwards. But I don't buy it. He played like crap and has been playing like crap at courses he's usually done very well on. I was critical of the Nike signing at first, and I was willing to give him a pass at Abu Dhabi and Dove Mountain. At this point though, I don't think you can look at it any other way. To date, Titleist has been the beneficiary of the greatest non-paid advertisement in golf history.

Now, he needs to get his act together as a professional, as well as a professional golfer.

Dont forget that she actually tried to remove the poison with a tee before continuing her round too. Thats hardcore( was a red-back widow, close relative to the black widow)

Well said CO. I think it is seriously doubtful he had a bad tooth anyway. He was eating a sandwich just a short time before he ran off the course like a spoiled brat.

First of all, even Rory didn't claim the sore wisdom tooth prevented him from playing. He said it interferred with his concentration. He should have stuck out the round.

One of the things I like about our game IS the high standards. Rory made a mistake. One he should get enough blow back from this so he doesn't do it again.
